MIZU Sushi Bar & Grill in San Jose

Food was priced kind of high but decent. Order the grilled chicken teriyaki and it was pretty tasty. Couple of edges were burnt but no big deal. Service was good and wait time wasn't too bad. Overall decent.

I went to this place with my friends to celebrate one of my friend's birthday. This place serves the best Sushi's and tasty food. We enjoyed a lot as this place has its own unique vibe. Everybody at this place was so happy and it was all a joyous evening.

Good food and service. It's not my favorite sushi place, but it's good. No complaints. I would go back if I was nearby, but wouldn't make a point to go there.

I like this place, it has an extensive food and sake menu which were all quite tasty. The staff is fantastic. The restaurant is bright and spacious.

This place isn’t bad if you’re looking for a taste of sushi. The rolls taste pretty good, but they are slightly lacking. One thing that threw me for a loop was that the crab inside the rolls is just a stick of imitation crab. It takes away the creaminess of the roll by not having the crab mix inside, as is normally done. The rolls are also VERY small. I normally fill up with one roll at sushi places, but I need 2 here. At $12-14 a roll, that’s not cheap. I was excited to see mixed tempura on the menu but then confused when it was an entree in a bento box and not available at all as an appetizer. Mixed tempura is usually one of my favorite appetizers to order at a sushi place. Overall: taste was pretty good, fish was good, portions were very small, and you either spend a lot of money or leave hungry. My rating: 3.5 stars (I can’t do halves, so I was nice and went with 4)

Great sushi, great service

Excellent service! Mizu sushi has friendly service that was timely and attentive. The sushi was pricy but the fish portions are very generous. Fresh and tasty! The ramen was just okay. A little pricy for my taste. The menu is robust and has a lot of Japanese foods available. Try it if you are downtown.

Okay, need to set this up. I am from small town Nebraska. This is significant here because of price. Usually, we anticipate things to be more expensive when we go to big cities. NOT THE CASE HERE!!! We were so surprised that the prices were the same as where we live!!! The sushi and ramen were amazing (btw they have lots of different things besides that, things younger kids would like). That's not all; anyone working there can give you suggestions about what you would like, like how the Mizu Ramen is a more authentic style than the Gormet Ramens. She even explained in detail why there is such a difference. They were so helpful. On top of that, the staff were attentive and kind. We came in at around 5pm on a week day. So, basically this is a fantastic place to go!!!

Great service and food. Eugene was our server and he was awesome with recommendations as well as serving us drinks. He had us laughing the whole time! Fresh sushi and the fried rice is the best!

We’re out of towners, and I was craving some ramen, and I was NOT disappointed! I got the beef ramen, and my husband got the chicken teriyaki. They were both fantastic, and the people who work/own the place are down to earth and so sweet. Thank you for making this a place to want to come back to when we pass through again!

They profiled me and my daughter. The waiter said " before you sit I just want to let you Know about the 18% automatic tip. He walked away and said nothing to us. After 5 min watching us from the bar he brought water. It was so dark inside for day time. I got up and walked across the street to Sen. I gave a one for location.

Great food great people grate

I feel like places that lie deserve zero stars but since that isn't an option I'll give one. Stopped by this restaurant at 9:58 tonight to find it closed even though the hours on Google and ON THEIR DOOR say they close at 11. It's a shame because i had heard great things. Ended up going down the street to Sen, who actually honors their listed hours, and recieved great food and service.

Quite pleasant calm ambiance. No loud music. Spicy tasty ramen and very generous spring rolls. Very nice staff that helped make the meal unrushed.

It is an Okay restaurant. The ramen noodles are okay. I had the shrimp ramen and they were the tiny frozen shrimps. The chicken is ok and the broth need more flavors. The service was good. The suchi rolls was a lot better than the rice dishes.

Best sushi option in downtown STL if you’re looking. Great happy hour deals and a ton of sushi roll options for you to choose from. Ramen bowls are also very good. Owned by a local family who are there and working every day. Great staff and friendly service. If you’re looking for takeout, every order I’ve placed is always ready in 15 minutes. The owners Eugene and Sue are such a delight, and always add a friendly, neighborhood touch to their service.

Fine fresh delicately powerful sushi. The wait staff is wonderfully polite. The hostess Susan is exquisite and beautiful. Eugene is always good for a smile.

First time there loved the food I ate and friendly staff. I highly recommend and a chilled atmosphereI came back second time ordered the shrimp ramen don’t waste your time on their ramen it was very little broth in my to go container and it had a bad taste

I can't speak for any of the food, I'm sure it's decent, but my service experience was horrible. We entered the restaurant and there was no host to speak of so we decided to sit at the sushi bar assuming we could at least get service at the bar. No one ever said a word to us. The one server walked past us without saying anything and the sushi chefs never offered water or anything. We felt like ghosts. When I tried to go up to the server when she was cashing someone out. She didnt even look up or acknowledge my existence despite me being directly in her field of view clearly attempting to ask a question. Needless to say we walked out. Horrible experience and waste of 15 minutes. The least you could do is tell us you are too busy and can't seat us or at least acknowledge my existence in any way shape or form. I found it extremely rude, I will not be returning ever

Great presentations for large groups

Steep price for sushi, cheapest nigiri is around $3 for one piece. The ramen tasted just like Shin Ramen Black from the instant ramen package. The maki roll wasn't too bad though.

Visited this place for lunch 3/6/2020 and I will be okay with not visiting again. The glasses and boxes that they served the food in were dirty, and I asked for sesame oil with my lunch, and the server was very rude with her reply when I asked for it. I don't have a desire to visit again.

Sushi is great. Chicken teriyaki is okay. Staff is friendly. They do charge a gratuity fee for groups with more than 6 people, though. And friend who had ramen said it was instant noodles. So don’t order ramen in this place.

Best service and even better food

Sushi was really tasty, everything ordered was tasty. (I've had some bad sushi in St Louis so I'm very pleased.) Server was exceptionally friendly and helpful with recommendations.

I ordered chicken ramen and was served with instant noodles. It tastes the same as shin ramen and looks the same. The chicken was a dark grey color. I only had two bites. The server was watching TV, didn't refill my water or ask me how the food was even though I barely touched my food when I paid.

A bit pricey, but the food was great and they were so sweet and accommodating as my nephew who was barely 1 was past his nap time. There was plenty of room for a high chair and his stroller! Will definitely be back!

Best top ramen ever! Nigiri had generous cuts nearly frozen

The food was really great here, definitely top notch sushi and $4 happy hour apps are very reasonable. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because they add an automatic 18% gratuity. This by itself is whatever, we normally would tip 20%, but I understand that lots of people don't so some places feel the need to add that. My issue is that our server, who was most surely one of the owners, pointed out to my husband that he didn't leave an additional tip on top of what was already added in. She said something like, "The 18% is just so we can stay open, the extra tip is for good service". Trust me, I know times are tough for restaurants, my husband and I own one ourselves, but that's not the best way to handle that. That being said, I hope everyone will consider eating out more often to help keep restaurants open. Whether it be at this one or some other one, or dine in or carry out. Just get out there and help your favorite restaurants!

I have only eaten here once and had the Shrimp Ramen; it was essentially instant Ramen with tiny frozen shrimp thrown in. Way overpriced when the quality was so low. Anyone who loves real Ramen would not recognize the dishes served here. Atmosphere and service was okay.

Quality sushi. I think you end up paying more for the location than for the excellence of the food. Parking can be hard to find here during busy times.
